Well, just hours after reading the bad news from Apple about voiding warranties, and bricking your iPhone, looks like there’s already a hack to restore your iPhone to its original state.
According to an article from Epicenter, the new option to relock your iPhone has emerged on MacNN.
The process, as outlined by one MacNN reader, promises to restore your iPhone to its natural unsullied state — thus rendering it impervious to Apple’s forthcoming firmware update. But don’t get too excited. This hack is by no means for the faint of heart. Nor is it a guarantee your iPhone will survive the update. Even the author reminds users that his instructions “are still in flux.”
Ah, don’t you just hate those little details, but at least we know that there is hope for those unlocked iPhones.
Update: seems like Apple already changed their tunes about bricking unlocked iPhones. iPhone Alley have just posted an update in regards to their news earlier about the firmware update.
