New Vaja iVolution Crystal Case for iPhone & A Good Review at Gear Diary

Vaja has just announced their new iVolution Crystal 2 case for iPhone.
The new Crystal 2 has an elegant engraved design with embedded Swarovsky crystals. The Crystal 2 provides access to most iPhone functions, covering almost all of its surface.
I don’t know Swarovsky from jet ski, but these look very shiny and pretty – and I do know that Vaja consistently brings us cases of all kinds that are known for their superb quality. These new Crystal 2 cases start at $220 and can be highly customized. Give them a look at:

And while we’re talking about the iVolution line, I should mention that I just read a very good review of the iVolution and iVolution Top cases by Doug over at Gear Diary. Here’s one of his many pics from the review:

I purchased the iVolution case from Vaja 8 months ago.
I loved the size/shape/quality of the leather even though I had some concerns regarding the clip/closing system-it seemed a little flimsy to me.
As it's turned out, my concerns were well grounded as the closing system has now failed and the leather has worn out as well. What seems to be internal white plastic is showing as well as having failed structurally so as there is no longer any flexibility to it. I can no longer use the case as it provides no protection.
I think this is a serious flaw in the design. I've had a number of leather cases from Sena etc before and never had a problem. They've used various magnetic systems.
I'm really disappointed after spending a substantial amount of money on a Vaja case, that it has lasted such a short period of time.
AlexN – very sorry to hear that. Have you approached Vaja about the issue? I imagine they might be sympathetic / helpful if there are no odd reasons for the early deterioration. I have an iVolution Top since 2007, that has had fairly heavy use on my V1 iPhone, and is still in use and in good shape.
