Those are the easiest methods I know of right now, pending a more fully automated AppTapp style method that is supposed to be due out any moment.
Of course, any of these methods have some risk and all that jazz – so give it some thought before trying.

But … there are ‘jailbreak’ methods for 1.1.1 for the Touch now though – so you could use those after applying 1.1.1 if you wanted.
