Here’s a very useful looking new native iPhone application that’s popped up on Installer today. It’s called Search and it does two things:
- Searches your contacts as you type – and then dials a phone number with one tap once you select a contact
- Lets you specify a date and then jump straight to it in the Calendar program
The search feature works well and fairly quickly. This should be a big hit with lots of people, and certainly for those with ultra-long lists of contacts. The date feature is one that I could take or leave really.
Search is tested on iPhone firmware 1.1.1, but may also work with 1.02:
This software is still beta, and has only been tested on 1.1.1 though it should work fine on 1.0.2 (we haven’t specifically tested it on 1.0.2)
One slight downside to this app at the moment – it has a ‘nagware’ reminder screen that you see on each launch of the program, asking for a donation.
