Time Magazine has named the iPhone the ‘Invention Of The Year’.  No doubt from here to January, iPhone is going to pick up a slew of awards – but this one should count as a fairly big win, one that Steve might find some wall-space for.

Last year’s winner of this award was YouTube.  YouTube and then iPhone. Makes you wonder a little bit … have their been no breakthrough medical or scientific inventions in these last couple of years?  Nothing that helps save lives or some amazing bit of nano-technology that merits a place above YouTube and the iPhone?

Great win for iPhone, but a bit of a sad state of affairs if these are really the best inventions of the last two years …

My thoughts exactly … how sad is it that a phone and a website are the two recent winners. What about hydrogen powered automobiles, as you said medical device breakthroughs, VIAGRA/Cialis – just kidding – … but there’s got to be something out there that’s new in this world that does something more than feed our gizmo addiction and more worthy of the title
