It’s time for Germany to embrace the iPhone… or will they?
A few hundred people lined up outside a Deutsche Telekom shop in Cologne after midnight, hours before the store opened its doors.
The weather was cold and rainy, and some T-Mobile shops reported opening its doors to supply blankets, umbrellas and hot drinks to those waiting in the rain. T-Mobile also reported selling 10,000 units by early afternoon.
The purchase price of the iPhone was $399 euros ($584 USD), and purchasers had to agree to a 2-year contract.
We’ll have to see how the sales numbers come in from Germany. At the moment, the response and sales are looking ho-hum at best. Can’t wait to see more numbers on this.
To all of Germany, enjoy your iPhones!
