Last Friday was the long-awaited launch of the iPhone in Germany and the UK.  After all the hype and the anticipation, there are now hugely conflicting reports on whether the iPhone is a hit or a big flop in its first European markets.

Scotsman.com says "GADGET fever showed no sign of abating across the UK yesterday as customers continued to queue to snap up the new Apple iPhone" – and they even quote an O2 spokesman as saying they don’t have official figures yet, but "… but what we can say is that the sales are more than exceeding our expectations, and our expectations were pretty high".

Apple Insider says Apple’s marketing chief was on hand to oversee a ‘successful UK iPhone launch’. He was at the flagship Apple Store in Regents Street, London – shown above.
