A short while ago JavoEDGE sent me a few cases to take a look at from their new AlloyVision line-up for the iPhone. Well, actually they sent me all four cases (Black, Red, Silver and Magenta) to check out. So rather than give you pages and pages of me blabbering… I figured why not just give you a bunch of images and give you some thoughts about this new hybrid style plastic and metal case towards the end?!
Continue on for the rest!!

Notice the inside of the case in this shot … the metal backing is covered with a nice soft felt/foam material. No back scratches!
Conclusion
Alright, so here we are 16 shots later, but not a whole lot wiser about the actual product. Here’s what I’ve got:
- The case is very tight fitting. Definitely not in a bad way. If you’re worried about the iPhone sliding out of the case you need not be. It takes a valid effort to get the phone out.
- There is NO screen protection. While the front, back and sides of the phone are quite well protected from scratches and the like, your screen will not be.
- Access to all the buttons and switches on the iPhone is actually very, very good. One if the things that I didn’t like about the JavoEDGE Clear was how the case came a bit too close to the buttons. This has definitely been resolved with the AlloyVision.
- Another thing I wasn’t a fan of with the clear case was the “home” button. The clear case made a full circle around this button, and again this has been resolved on the AlloyVision with a 3/4 cutout. This makes the home button a lot easier to hit and a much better experience.
- Sharp edges on this case are almost non-existent. Even the transition between plastic and metal is smooth.
- It seems like the case goes up a bit far at the top. See the images for what I mean. It’s not a deal breaker, but definitely a bit odd… and sometimes makes the on/off button a bit of a pain to get to quickly.
- This is another case that really the belt clip is what I would consider an optional thing. You can screw it on there, you can clip it to your belt and you can fell comfortable with it not going anywhere. But in all honesty I prefer the thing in my pocket. The case is very easy to slide into and out of a back pocket.
- Case has to come off if you use the iPhone supplied cradle. But that’s reality with almost all cases out there.
- The sides have a nice rubber “no slip” type grip where the metal and plastic come together. Once of the best features of this case if you ask me.
Really there isn’t a whole lot more to say. This case is a really interesting mix of the Metal Cover and the Clear Case. Both of those cases were easy to recommend and its no different with the AlloyVision. Of the cases I’ve tried from JavoEdge – over a couple of devices – this is the one I like the most. The mix of cold, hard metal and clear plastic that shows off the iPhone is VERY hard to resist. If you love the look of the iPhone and you want a case that still leaves it looking like an iPhone the AlloyVision is for you.
You can find the AlloyVision from JavoEDGE directly from JavoEdge for $35.95 in Black, Red, Silver and Magenta.
