As winter takes hold in most parts of the US and Europe, getting up-to-date weather information can be critical at times, and is often extremely useful just on a daily basis for a lot of folks. So it’s good to see that the number of options for getting detailed weather info on the iPhone is growing.

Weatherbug – a hugely popular provider of weather information on desktop computers – has now got an iPhone and iPod Touch optimized site. The new site provides international weather information, 7 day forecast details, radar, and camera images from WeatherBug’s network of tracking stations. There’s also a video tab, which shows an overview of conditions and daily forecasts fort he entire USA. You can of course choose your own location or locations and scroll through all the weather details for each one.

Both Weatherbug and The Weather Channel offer a lot more detail than you get from the built-in iPhone weather app.  The Weather Channel site offers a bit more detail on current conditions and forecasts going farther out, but Weatherbug is another good option and has the video overview if you’re in the US.

You can give Weatherbug a try at:

iphone.weatherbug.com
