You can update to 1.51 – it is not an official update but if you follow these instructions you will be able to play online again and also without the DVD.

the chances of there ever being an update again for this game are very slim, and perhaps only slightly higher if hell freezes over. and i even found out that i cant even play the gam single player as it crashes as soon as i join the map. luckily i also own bf2, which has been ported to mac with cider(check pirate bay or something like that) and that i find is just as good in someways, but not others. so if you dont have to play online, get the ported bf2. it supports widescreen gaming unlike bf2142 mac and it even allows video quality changes!!!

Us mac 2142 players are waiting for another update so we can play with them. I understand your frustration; I used to be able to use all of the in-game upgrades I’ve acquired but now I can’t use them on any online games. Hopefully we get one soon or ill forget I ever even got the game to begin with…

ive had this game for a bit and never got around to installing it. now i have time, and it installs fine and what not. however, it keeps telling me that i dont have the latest version, which i do because its all properly updated from the battlefield website, and then there are no servers with the same version. Any help?

I got this game about a year ago for my iMac, on which it worked fine (aside from the understandable emulation and PB issues). Recently I got a new Macbook pro (2.4 GHz, 1 GB RAM, pretty little thing), and the game runs like a sleepy rabbit in a race with a tortoise. It is incredibly slow, although it meets all requirements and from and virtually unplayable.

Hello Everybody.

I have a problem with Battlefield 2142. I have a macbook pro 2.53 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB and the Mac OS Leopard.

The game opened correctly and run the intro. But when it opens a window asking me to create a login, it appears a window telling me “Invalid key”. I’ve downloaded the keygen of this game and I’ve tried many serial numbers, but it doesn’t work.

Do you have any idea what is happening? How could I play?

i was now reading all the depressing notes. Hmm I am from GER so i had to buy it in USA (;-) it arrived).I ve a MacBook Pro 17″ with DUO Core 2.4 Ghz and 2GB Ram. Grafik GeForce 8600M GT and 256 MB VideoRam so, … Installation … annoying Registration at EA (feels like BigBrother)… and there it is … The Update Story. Just press the other option (Text) . My Installation was so funny cause it opened up a 2. BF2142 Screen (Task-like) “Is wine…sever allowed to make a connection. be aware of this multi-task option (I was reading the text underneath and the window disappeared, lol. then iwas asked for a Clan-tag, skip this and creat a new soldier, then klick into the screen in screen. and … everything is just fine. some ajustments to mevement and grafic and of i go. Shame my Razor.app seams to make a delay. whole feeling of the game, hmm cause they leave you into the first battle with no granades. So everything is hiding behind and is so tricky. Now i am on Version 1.5 from DVD. No Servers found so far.
What s happening on your side, any news …?

hmm i could only join one server for a couple of weeks but i just found out the mac version of the update came out so im happy 🙂 after waiting for like 3 hours for it to install i clicked on it and updated it to battlefield 2132 application. it patched the files and then when it was complete the window just dissapeard. so i opened up battlefield 2142 and it still says i need to download the update im like WTF ive installed it and patched it a ton of times but still says i dont have it ?? and wtf is a EA link idk what it is but it says i dont have it so i might need it?

I installed the game everything worked the it said i needed ea link so then i uploaded patch 1.50 nothing changed then emailed ea they said to run it through a different user nothing changed i have the new ma 2009 with everything so now i found out it neeeds a punkbuster theres none in the game contents so i download the pb nothing i upload the game it said client version not installed then server version also what do i do from there its soo dumb because why wouldnt ea fix this is the even sell the game thats not good buisness to me so if u can please help me or walk me through on what to do to play online thanks!

I got this game for Christmas. It’s fun when I’m not busy force quitting my computer four times a day because I want to play it for about 30-45 minutes. Literally. My mac-book pro that has all the neccesary requirements, (If not BETTER requirements than those required), and yet this game has continually stopped. I’ll be in the middle of a singleplayer game, (oddly enough, the game works fine online), and it’ll stop and repeatedly make the sound/sounds that were going on during the time that it froze. I’ve tried using the disk utility to verify and repair the disk permissions, but that only reduced the number of freezings by a fourth. Im very frustrated with this game. It’s been about a two weeks since I got the game, and already the amount of force quitting I’ve done has completely screwed up my computer. I can’t use the trackpad to right click, the computer won’t even start up if the cd is in, and now, the Cd is stuck inside my computer, and whenever I try to turn it on, the startup sound goes, and the apple and loading gear appear and just sit there. The gear will spin and spin, but I left it on for four hours with the power cable in to see if It would just take a long time to load. When I came back, It was still Loading. Plz Help?

I just bought a brand new 20″ silver imac with 320GB serial ATA 7200-rpm hard drive. I also bought battlefield 2142 macDVD. After I fully downloaded it to my computer I started the game and it started, but there was no images only sound and nothing else. What is my problem and how do I fix it? Thank you.

I am also getting the same problem as RADAS. I cant update anything because it says the files have been modified please re-install in the middle of the Update. This is game is so screwed up sometimes.

hey everyone i have a problem. When i go onto the server list i only get 32 servers and all of them never have any players on them so i never get to play online so i cant get upgrades, award or anything. When i try to log on to another server it says my client link from EA is too old to play on the server. When i get onto the start screen it says an update is available so it takes me to EA website but it doesnt tell me which update it is. Is there an update for a new client list? My computer specs are definitely high enough i just dont know what is wrong. I need urgent help!

I am losing my mind.
Ever since updating to BF 1.50, I have been constantly punkbusted out of play no matter what I do.

I have already done the following things:
– re-installed BF with both patches incrementally (twice) with proper un-install both times
– checked in ‘show package contents’ (there is never a pb folder in there on any of my install attempts, or anywhere else that I can find for that matter)
– installed pbsetup (I can add the game but then when I tell it to update it runs through a whole lot of things and then still says that there is no punkbuster installed – I dont know if running pb setup actually installs pb or what?)
– endlessly trawling through ever balance’s DREADFUL website that has absolutely no instructions at all – totally heinous
– downloading ever balance updates
– tried putting the pb folder in the package contents folder
– lodged 3 x tickets with ever balance and they keep sending me instructions for vista even though I have repeatedly told them I am on OSX 10.5

NOTHING WORKS.
Please help if you know anything cos I was really loving this game (and getting pretty good at it too!!)

I have the same problem with my battlefield I wonder if any mac intro’s work and dose any body know where to download the EA link. I downloaded it but it said it dose not run on this mood or some think like that. Maybe it is not compatible with mac, any way dose any body know where to download it!?

If you can’t see the buildings or rather anything else try changing the screen resolution that worked for me.

I have exactly the same problem as General Vague. I have a 2.2 Macbook and the game “plays” with no buildings or other team members visible. Is like being in a fog and obviously pointless. Have installed the 1.4 patch and my OS is up to date but all to no avail. Anyone have any tips? Could it be my DVD drive is not functioning correctly?

i have the white MacBook all the ram needed etc. and my battlefield 2142 wont work! it will start and then close. when it opens it tells me that the graphics are not supported but im running OS X 10.4.11 so it should be working…right?

however im using a GMA 950 chipset model apparently that doesnt support the graphics or something!…im rather confused!

i downloaded the update thinking that would iron out the problem but it doesnt seem to have done anything..

has anyone got any advice or help to get the game running?
