Zannel is a mobile social network, or a social networking platform that is very mobile focused (more users hitting it via WAP and mobiles than via full browsers) – and it has just launched an iPhone app.
Zannel’s sign-up is fast and free, and its layout looks very nice on the iPhone. Their motto is ‘Your Life In Real Time’ – so it’s very much like Twitter in that users send frequent updates on what they’re doing at any given moment of the day. Unlike Twitter’s text-only updates, Zannel lets you very easily send photos and video along with any text in your updates. This feature works quite well from the iPhone.
I only started looking at Zannel last night. Initial impression is that it feels ‘younger’ than Twitter, in terms of its user base. It’s easy to use though, so I’ll continue to give it a whirl and see how it goes – even though I feel as if I’m getting very close to the limit of my social networking ability / tolerance π
