iPhone Developers Working The Santa Shift?

No rest for the wicked, or the producers of wicked apps (ouch, nobody says wicked anymore do they?) I guess.  There seems to be a serious wave of momentum these last couple of weeks in the iPhone native apps arena.

Installer is once again showing several new apps (and many quite useful and interesting ones) just about every day, and the updates to existimobilersssplashng apps are also flowing thick and fast lately.

Just in the course of yesterday and today, there have been updates for:

iBlackjack – - the iPhone Blackjack game.  Not sure how much changed in latest update, but still loving this app

MobileRSS – the only native RSS reader for the iPhone.  Version 2.3 now out on Installer – has resolved a pesky issue with item view text wrapping!

Search – native iPhone Contacts & Calendar search app.  Added a couple new features and a fix:

  • Added physical addresses to contact info screen

  • Added SMS option to contacts info. You can now send text messages to found contacts

  • Fixed all foreign keyboard display problems

  • PocketMoney – the first native personal finance manager app for iPhone. Quite a lot added in this update:

    • feature: Password screen implemented
    • feature: Assign icons to Account
    • feature: Home currency implemented
    • feature: Clicking > next to phone number in Account Info screen calls the number
    • feature: Clicking > next to website in Account Info screen opens Safari to that website. "http://" required.
    • feature: Show Accounts based on All, Non-Zero balances, and Total Worth is implemented
    • bug fixed: creating a new transaction or new account without entering data will not create a blank account/transaction
    • tweak: made font of category in the transaction list slightly bigger to make reading it a little easier
    • tweak: Updated icons for Prefs, New and Delete

So if you’ve got a few days off (hopefully) coming up during the holiday season, it’s definitely worth taking a look at Installer and seeing what’s new and what catches your eye.  And give us a shout and let us know what you like / don’t like, and all that good stuff …
