kDialer Smart Dialing App for iPhone Launched

kDialer offers intelligent dialing for the iPhone

kDialer – a native iPhone smart dialing application – has been released under the ModMyiFone Installer source.kDialer1

Version 1.0 of kDialer allows you to enter the first few numbers of a contact’s phone number, and automatically starts showing you the closest match.  In the screenshot at right, I’ve only entered 2-2 and it is already pulling up my dummy Joe Bloggs contact for one tap dialing.

In certain situations, this could be a real time saver. Sure, there are many contacts whose numbers I don’t tend to know at all, as I’m just used to selecting them from a list of contacts.  There are others though whose numbers I do know well, and where it is probably a lot quicker to hit the first two digits of their number, than to flick and scroll the Contacts list.

kDialer is coded by NetMage, and in This Forum Thread at MMI, he seems to be saying that smart dialing by contact name will be coming soon – now that would be very nice to see!

You can grab kDialer via Installer now – you’ll need to have the ModMyiFone source in order to see it.  To add them as a source, follow these steps:
