What’s The Secret Sauce in The iPhone Camera?

This time of year is definitely one where most of us are pretty snap-happy – taking loads of photos of office parties, family, friends, and Xmas trees and gifts for those who celebrate it.

I’ve been giving the iPhone’s camera a good workout lately, while my better half snaps away with a proper digital camera.  And I’m just continually impressed with how good the iPhone photos are, especially considering that: it’s just a 2.0 megapixel camera, and I’m truly awful at taking pictures!

Even with my ineptness in  handling it, the iPhone has managed to grab snewtonome quite good shots, and gained lots of compliments from even the skilled photographers during these last few days – and that was before showing off all the multitouch fun you can have with your pics on the iPhone!

I really never managed to get photos this decent with several other mobile devices that had 2 megapixel cameras.  I know little to nothing about any of the tech that goes into cameras in smartphones, but I’m real curious now as to how Apple managed to make the iPhone’s camera such a cut above others.

Any photography buffs out there who have some insight on what the secret recipe is?   And is my dog handsome or what???
