Just about one day after the first native iPhone chess game was launched, along came a second – Caissa.
Caissa offers slightly more detailed looking pieces than Chess, but its gameplay is not quite as smooth just yet. I found it difficult to get it to move a piece to its desired space fairly often, because it uses a sort of Tap / Hold / Drag method for moving your pieces, which seems to have an unintended bit of ‘snapback’ to it – so it snaps the piece back to where you started, or sometimes even lands the piece short of its desired destination.
So … very nice looking this one, but needs a little work I think. Hopefully a next version is on its way soon.
Caissa is available via Installer now.
