iClueless is a new search portal for the iPhone / iPod Touch, from the makers of iPhoneRingToneMaker. It’s a web app that offers one tap
access to several popular search engines, as shown in the screencap top left.
It offers quick searches via Google, Wikipedia, Amazon and eBay, ESPN, and Yahoo resources. The news icon uses Google News as its engine, weather uses The Weather Channel’s site, stocks uses Yahoo Finance, and Business takes you straight out to Google Maps.
There are a number of good search options for the iPhone already, including the excellent Websearch native app that lets you get your search terms entered prior to launching the browser. One thing that makes iClueless a handy one to bookmark is that it gives you an easy toggle drop-down to choose whether to get search results as full sites, or mobile versions. That should be a big plus when you’re working with an Edge connection and still want fast, usable results.
I think I like its name too, if I can just get past my slight resentment of being called clueless while I search 🙂
