Seems like this is a bit overdue – some Linux hacking to get the iPhone syncing and playing nice with it. Anyway, seems that now you can get your music syncing between iPhone and Ubuntu Linux.
And the setup steps to get it all going seem very straightforward – on the iPhone all that is required is a jailbroken phone with OpenSSH and the BSD Subsystem installed.
I haven’t tried out Ubuntu yet – will check out a live distro real soon – so let us know if you give this a go and tell us how it goes for you.
