Is this a joke? Trust me, as somebody who has worked for a number of large companies who base their lives on internet users, safari is shit. Its Steve Jobs being a control freak, and pricks like you are the reason he gets away with it. Would you really want one company to control the hardware, OS, and software choices of our day to day lives? Say what you will about Microsoft, but at least I always had the option to choose what i run it on, and what I run it with. You, my friend, are an apple tool.

The reason why it should not even be an option is the same reason why it should be discontinued completely. It is NEVER up to W3C standards. If you are not a web developer and simply a user you have absolutely no clue how frustrating it is to work around internet explorer all of the time. It is a major reason why the internet is somewhat crippled, and not what it really could be. Too many users since it's what comes with Windows, and too little knowledge about why it really is a terrible browser.

I would love to see IE on my Ipod Touch as it is the best browser bar none. I resent only being given one choice of browser on the iphone, and one inbuilt choice of search, plus video out that only works with a Mac docking station – if only it had the open standard of my PC. However the apps are a great feature, as is the ease of use.

^^^ I guess one of my main 'rational' reasons for not wanting to see IE on the iPhone is that wherever IE is, there is generally a ton of malware buggering up the system it's running on.

As for the realtor app that requires an IE browser, perhaps you should direct your anger at the lack of support for others – especially in the mobile arena, since all recent mobile browser stats seem to indicate that just about nobody does much browsing at all with any IE-based mobile browsers. If the app's developers have any interest in it being used on mobile devices, they'd want to look towards supporting other browsers in a hurry …

If you don't like IE why would you mind if there still is an option to install it on iPhone?!! Don't like it, don't install it and don't use it!!! But let other people have freedom of choice you narrow-aiming morons! There is tons of realtors who like and own iPhone, but the website allowing them to run their business properly is not possible to run on anything else but IE engine based browser, so no go for Safari you would guess. People like iPhone, but they can not use it since there is no way they can open the only site that allows them to see/manage listings/offers.

So next time, think twice when you're saying something that has no connection to anything rational… and saying that in public.
