I have long been a huge fan of Sena cases and have used them on a wide variety of devices. The high quality leather, the excellent workmanship, and the reasonable price all combine to make Sena cases among my favorites. The Sena Magnetic Flipper Case for iPhone I have been using for the last two weeks is no exception, and I’m really pleased to be able to review it here.
The Sena website describes the case in this way:
The MagnetFlipper is made of premium European leather and is specially designed for smartphones and other mobile devices. The MagnetFlipper offers device port openings, pocket(s) for business or credit cards, and slots for memory cards. Utilizing gravity, the cover is engineered with a hinged bottom and magnetic fastening system at top, thus allowing the cover to be flipped out of the way with a flick of the thumb and enabling the user to quickly answer the phone. Like all Sena accessories, the MagnetFlipper is custom designed for a myriad of devices, resulting in a slim and snug fit.
This is one situation in which there is total truth in advertis
ing. It is a beautiful and a useful case. You can choose from 14 different colors and decide whether or not you want to use the belt clip that is included or not.
The case arrives with typical Sena packaging – a nice red box, soft red protective cloth pouch, and the case itself. This particular case arrived in a rich blue leather which I didn’t particularly care for at first, (I tend to like black cases) but I have grown to like it a great deal.
The fit and finish of the case is phenomenal. The phone fits into the case quite snugly and, although the tight-fitting would probably be enough to ensure that the phone remained in the case at all times, there is also a low-profile snap that goes over the top of the phone. Once the iPhone is in the case and the snap is secured there is no possibility of it slipping out of the case unprotected.
At the same time, however, it is quite easy to remove the phone
from the case when necessary. The protection provided by the case is fantastic, which is the point of the case in the first place. When the flip down cover is in place the most significant ports are still available but the case itself is surrounded in protective leather, including the screen, the most delicate portion of the phone.
All it takes to answer a call or to use the touchscreen is a simple flick of a finger. The cover, which is attached at the bottom of the phone, drops down to gravity. It’s a quick and easy process. And, although you are not able to use the phone’s cradle when it is in the case, it can be charged in the case with ease. As always, Sena thought through this case extremely well.
I will not, however, be using this case on a daily basis, but that is only an issue of personal preference rather than the case itself. I have become far too used to having the screen exposed so that, even
though it is a simple process to reveal the screen when it is in the case, I found it to be a constant annoyance.
However, in those situations in which I am concerned about the screen being protected it is an excellent option and I suspect that there will be times when I use it.
If you are looking for a case that protects the device and includes a cover the Sena Magnetic Flipper case for iPhone is well worth a look.
