1.1.3 Jailbreak Is Out & I’m Trying It Now

Nate True’s site has just posted the first public jailbreak for iPhone firmware 1.1.3, and I’m giving it a try now.  Nate’s iBrickr screens are very well done, with explanations of what stage you’re at, and status / progress shown where possible.

I’ve got nearly all the way through the process now, but following the reboot after installing the 1.1.3 Soft package via Installer, the phone is seen by iTunes as being in recovery mode.  Oops, trying to re-run things now …

UPDATE: Well, that did not work for me, though I have seen reports of success for various people.  Mine got all the way through to running the 1.1.3 Soft Upgrade via Installer (after iBrickr completed all it needed to), and then rebooted into recovery mode.  Ended up having to restore.  Debating now about whether to mess with a downgrade process and then try again – will have to be later this evening to try those as it will be time-consuming :(

UPDATE 2: Ok, after that first effort failed, I followed the downgrade process found in Brandon’s post (the script he had issues with worked ok for me though), then re-ran Nate True’s process and HURRAH, now I’m at 1.1.3 and jailbroken.  Have got contacts, photos, bookmarks synced back – will check out 3rd party apps soon and do a new post.

I have the same problem as you. This sucks big time.

Yeah. Restore for me at least is quite clean. No big ‘Other’ taking up silly amounts of space on the phone. Contacts, photos, bookmarks etc. restored. Debating whether it is worth messing with time-consuming downgrade process now.

This has been much expected. Thank You to those who worked so hard on it.

Worked for me. I followed all the steps (I already had 1.1.3 downloaded onto my drive) in iBrickr and then ran the 1.1.3 soft upgrade.

iTunes shows 1.1.3 … but I’ve got about 500MB of “other”. Wonder if the image is still on there…
