Apparently another season of the monster-popular American Idol series has started up. I have to admit I’m not a big fan – I like the initial horrifying and funny auditions, but really don’t follow it much once it gets serious.
But … it seems like the show gets a few viewers despite me tuning out, so the new iPhone Idol will probably be a hit as well. iPhone Idol is an American Idol Fan / Community site, offering songs, videos, forums and chat, polls, information about past and current contestants, and the ability to vote from your iPhone of course. You need to register to chat or comment in the forums.
The site is pretty basic and optimized decently for the iPhone. Videos play via the YouTube player, and it’s nice to see that the initial set are all ‘Worst Audition Ever’ type compilations.
This is not an official Fox site, but I imagine we’ll see one of those pretty soon too.
