Britannica Mobile Offers iPhone Access to ‘The’ Encyclopedia

Mobile Britannica iPhone version

Quick access to factual, unbiased and easy to understand answers from real scientists, doctors, professors, even Nobel Laureates. Featuring database searches into the entire Encyclopedia Britannica, this iPhone reference tool also includes a huge digital library of amazing images, categorized by tobritannica3pic for a comprehensive experience when you need to be right. With a simple and intuitive interface, users can quickly access and filter through over one million pages of content covering an incredibly vast array of topics.

We posted recently on the Wikipedia native iPhone application, which lets you carry Wikipedia with you locally on the iPhone, if you’ve got a couple GB of space free for it.  Mobile Britannica offers a very nice iPhone-optimized web app option, for accessing the most famous of all encyclopedias on the iPhone.

Mobile Britannica works well on the iPhone – pages load quickly, and search results are quick and relevant.  Its images are also iPhone optimized, and you can zoom on any of the smaller, in-page images to get a more full-sized look.

This is a good one to bookmark as a great reference resource, even if you have Wikipedia or another local solution – you can’t have too much knowledge right?
