Even Google Can’t Believe iPhone Web Usage Numbers

“We thought it was a mistake and made our engineers check the logs again,” Vic Gundotra, head of Google’s mobile operations told the Financial Times at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Every time I think I’ve seen enough iPhone stats to never be surprised again … something like this comes along …

Google has told the Financial Times that it has seen 50 times (five-OH) more searches on the iPhone than on any other mobile handset.  

It’s not very clear what period of time is being looked at for those numbers, but any way you slice that, it’s pretty amazing.  As you can see above, I’m not real good with charts and such, but I figured this was a pretty easy one to whip up :)
