Apple Patent – Shows Advanced Multitouch and Copy & Paste

Here’s some more good stuff for all of us to dive into speculating on.  A newly uncovered Apple patent filing contains descriptions of ‘Advanced Multitouch’ – that would include operations like system control, file management, and browser navigation. 

Also shown are drawings where using a combination of thumb plus two fingers can invoke cut, copy, and paste commands!  A lot of the gestures and multitouch options shown are pretty complicated looking, awkward even – though probably less so on the MacBook Air or other touch-enabled trackpads on larger devices. 

As usual, no guarantees that anything in these patent filings will see the light of day – but hey, any mention of possible Copy&Paste for the iPhone is enough to get the pulse racing bit right?  :)
