Now there is a photo dialing app for the iPhone
Wow – this is turning into another great week for iPhone apps that are at the top of all of our Wish Lists. Today we’ve got Photo Dialer – the first photo dialing application for the iPhone.
Makayama Software – makers of Voice Dial and CameraPro – have just released Photo Dial. I’ve been playing with it for a little while this afternoon and so far it works as advertised.
The app is pretty straightforward – launch it and scroll through screens showing your contacts (four to a screen) and tap a photo to dial that person. You can set a few preferences, things like whether to have the app launch via a Home screen double-tap and a few others – and there’s also a screen where you can easily drag and drop to change the order that contacts appear in.
This is definitely another must-have sort of app for lots of folks – so once again, it’s nice to see Makayama jumping in with one even before the SDK comes out.
Photo Dial is set to sell for $19.95 in March, but is at a discounted $14.95 right now. You can also trial it for as long as you like, but you’ll have to accept a nag-ware ‘Buy or Continue’ message while you do.
As with their other iPhone apps, Makayama are promising to update this one and distribute it via official channels once the SDK arrives – and offering free upgrades to licensed users of course.
Photo Dial is available via Installer – but you’ll need to add the Makayama source in order to see it. The source address to add is: http://tinyurl.com/2t8cax.
