iPhone Firmware 1.1.4 Is Out – No Big Changes Reported So Far …

A new Version 1.1.4 firmware for the iPhone has been released today, via iTunes.  Apple’s release notes for it list only ‘bug fixes’, no new features.

So far, the early reports on it at TUAW and forum sites do not indicate any new features either.  Maybe this is one that includes further changes that pave the way for SDK apps?

There are also some reports that ZiPhone – the easiest and most effective 1.1.3 jailbream method IMO, works with 1.1.4, but will not activate.  Again, that’s not confirmed – just reported by some.

We’ll update this post as more information is available ….

UPDATE 1:  According to TUAW and Nate True, the ZiPhone jailbreak method does still work on 1.1.4, but activation does not, and apps are probably broken.  Zibri – the creator of the ZiPhone method – is advising users NOT to try to jailbreak 1.1.4 as yet, until more has been learned about it and methods have been updated …

UPDATE 2 – Some Details on Fixes: iPhone Atlas and many users are reporting that the SMS mis-ordering bug has been fixed by 1.1.4 – and that’s a big one for quite a few users – and that a number of Bluetooth related issues may also be fixed.
