Had also read somewhere (at Ste’s blog I think) that it is best to install new version of OpenSSH prior to going to 1.1.4, so will do that also (though with full restore there’s no reason that should help) …

What didn’t work so well is that yet again Installer thought all of the applications I installed in 1.1.3 were still installed (1.1.4 doesn’t wipe the the filesystem). So for example I couldn’t uninstall Summerboard. SSH was “installed” but wasn’t running, Wallpaper was installed but wasn’t usable. You get the idea.

So I put my iPhone into recovery mode and restored back to factory and am running the 1.1.4 update again. Hopefully this time with a clean start.
