iPhone News at Apple Shareholders Meeting

During Apple’s shareholder meeting yesterday Steve Jobs and other Apple execs gave away a some choice bits of information on a few iPhone-related subjects playing on lots of our minds lately.  ai_appicon_02

On the likelihood of seeing Flash supported any time soon, some pretty clearly bad news:

Adobe Flash won’t be coming to the iPhone anytime soon. Jobs said the full-blown version of Flash would perform poorly on the iPhone, and Flash Lite isn’t the spirit of the iPhone’s full internet experience.

Apple’s Chief Operations Officer, Tim Cook, confirmed that Apple will enter Asian markets this year, but wouldn’t get specific:

We will one day enter China, we’re not saying when, and we will one day enter India …

And then there’s the one quote from Steve Jobs that should really stir up tons more speculation (if that’s even humanly possible now) leading up to the SDK event on Thursday:

Jobs said “You’ll see a lot of apps out there this summer …"

Oh boy.  So now we can all start guessing, or adjust our guessing, as to whether that means we won’t see a final release of the SDK until then, or won’t see any real apps go on sale through Apple’s channels until then, and so on.

Well, at least it’s just one more day now until we get a lot of this stuff cleared up and we know a whole lot more about what to expect when …
