The bloody edges just REFUSED to stick and I spent an hour and a half on just getting them to stay down even with instructions. Anyway, leaving the iPhone to “cool down” now and am happy enough with the installation. I don’t see any bubbles on the screen, but there are def some things on the back…you know what I think would be a great addition? Some sort of “cornering” piece of plastic. You just slip it over and it’s moulded to the corner of the iPhone and you can do one corner at a time. Ima send that in as a suggestion now.

When I reviewed the InvisibleShield, holy moly did it ever take me forever to install it. Talk about patience and time just keeping your finger down on the corners!

But after it was all said and done, I have to admit the shield is pretty sweet. I have no worries when putting the phone in my pocket with keys, coins, or whatever! Best of all, no more ugly silicone case! 🙂

On the steam and shower … I never would have thought of that. Great idea!

The silver “ledges” are pretty much horrible. I agree 100%. I managed to get them on there but I had “trim” them a bit to make it work. They lay be laser cut for the iphone, but they definitely don’t contour it very well.

Shipping – I ordered the free shipping. I still got it within a week. Actually I was really surprised at how fast it got here and expected to have to wait the full 2 weeks.

@3AM – if you had to choose – shipping/price/service aside – which one would you buy? All things being equal I really wonder which actual product you like better…

Thanks for the comments!

I also installed the invisibleSHIELD on my first iPhone and I wanted to share a couple things…

If you take a shower and let the bathroom really steam up, it will cut the lint to almost zero.

On my second iPhone, I tried a full body shield from BestSkinsEver dot com. I like their skin better because the corners were way easier to apply and the ‘feel’ of the screen was less ‘grabby’. Also, the service experience was much better from Best Skins Ever than from Zagg (invisibleSHIELD). I had emailed Zagg about their shipping, which was a reasonable 4-5 bucks when I ordered my first shield. But on the second order, I was bummed to see this:

The only shipping options that we have are as follows:
1.) UPS 2nd Day Air- $15.00
2.) UPS 3 Day Air- $12.00
3.) UPS Ground (4-6 days)- $7.50
4.) USPS Global Express (1-2 days)- $25.00
5.) Free Shipping (2 weeks)

So I emailed them and asked them why the change. They didn’t get back to me, so I ordered the BSE skin for 8 bucks the next day. By the time Zagg returned my email, the BSE skin had already arrived and the BSE shipping was only 2 bucks. I mean, it’s just a thin package, why charge 12 bucks for 3 day delivery when you can drop it in a mailer for a fraction of that – which is what BSE did…

Anyway, I’m really happy with the BSE skin. I’ve dropped my phone a few times and I think having either a BSE skin or Zagg skin really protects your iPhone investment…

Thanks,

I too have an Invisible Shield for my iPhone. I have to say that I am impressed you succeeded at all without watching the video! 😉 I did watch the video and will emphasize this again for anyone else reading that you NEED TO WATCH THE VIDEO!!!! It has lots of useful tips about avoiding fingerprints under the cover and getting the corners to stick down.

I have had mine on there for about a month now, and I keep it in the same pants pocket as my keys and still have no scratches, so I can say it lives up to the hype. I also really appreciate the tacky feel of the cover for handling the iPhone without worrying about dropping it.

The only problem I had with the full body cover is the little pieces that go on the top and bottom on the silver ledge. I found they didn’t contour to the shape well and since they were the last pieces I was putting on, (and I was closing in on an hour), I just chucked them. Who cares if the silver ledge scratches up anyway? (Oh, and I also pulled off the home button sticker after using it for a few days. Again, who cares?)

Overall, I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone who has enough patience to apply it.
