Capture – New iPhone Screencap Utility

Capture iPhone screencap utility

Capture is a new screen capture utility for the iPhone, from the SOSiPhone (sosiphone.com) source.

It’s very simple to use – once you launch it there are two buttons: Cap and Fin (capture and close).  It shows its only two command buttons on a small slider bar, which you can move around the screen to whatever position you like best.

So far, the best thing about Capture is that it does its job and also appears to be quite a solid little app – no crashes or system lockups if it is running at the time of a respring or restart.  I’ve tested this several times now – respringing and powering off the iPhone with Capture running, with no ill effects.  I mention this because the other leading GUI screencap utility for iPhone – Screenshot from Robota Software – has caused many users severe issues when it is running at the time of a Springboard respring.

So far, I have only seen the French version of Capture (so we have the Fin button rather than close) – not sure if there is an English one around somewhere, but give how simple the app is I don’t feel I need one.

Capture is available on Installer now …
