One of the fun things about being associated with JAiB is having the opportunity to review a wide array of iPhone cases. Which case one uses is a personal thing. The decision is based on taste/aesthetics, device care/klutziness and just how important it is to you to keep your devices pristine. Personally I like to take care of my devices. When they look and feel nice they are more enjoyable to use. Moreover, since most of my devices eventually end up on eBay in order to make room for something new, a well-care-for device fetches a higher resale value. That’s important to me since my device turn-over tends to be rather high.
Over the last months I have had a chance to try many different cases. Some were great. Others fell far short of great. Most were somewhere in the middle. The result is that i have plenty of choices as to which case to use on any given day.
I spent part of today packing for a week-long trip to parts warmer and sunnier than the North East. Since my iPhone will be my primary device for listening to music and watching movies I had to decide which case I would bring with me. Sometimes too many choices are worse than no choices at all. But since I am trying to learn to pack light (I have a long way to go) I had to make a choice…
…would it be…
The Sena Magnetic Flipper Case?

The Prima Premium Leather Case?

The OtterBox Armor Case?

The streamlined InCase Slider Case?

Or the Signature Leather Case Case-Mate case I got when I first bought my iPhone last August?

Decisions…
Decisions…
Ultimately I’m going to end up bringing two cases along for the trip. The first is InCase’s Slider Case. It is slick, simple, and is the closest to having no case on the iPhone as you can get. It is currently my favorite was to carry the iPhone.
Since I am going to be spending a whole lot of time on the beach reading, though, I figured I would bring the OtterBox Armor Series Case, as well. While it is big and bulky that bulk protects the iPhone better than anything else without little if any loss of useability. Heck, the thing is even waterproof for up to a half hour. It will be nice to be able to use my iPhone no matter where I go next week without having to give it too much thought.
That’s an especially good thing since I just sold my well-protected pristine 8GB iPhone on eBay yesterday and traded up to the 16GB model. Now I’ll have plenty of movies and music for the plane ride.
