TimeCapsule – the first ever backup application for the iPhone – has been getting a lot of love and updates from its developer this week.
It’s up to version 0.09 beta now, and I’ve been testing out a couple generations of betas this week.
The most notable additions to the latest version are:
- Backs up more items – per requests from users, the program now also backs up Voicemail, Stocks (what you’re tracking), Weather (your selected cities), World Clock (selected cities again).
- Can now create multiple restore points – see the screencap above right, where I have three separate restore points for the Address Book to choose from if doing a restore.
- TimeCapsule for SMS syncing. TimeCapsule compares the SMS repository with that of the default SMS database and copies new SMS messages to the repository.
I’m very impressed with TimeCapsule, and with these recent updates to it. This latest beta version is not available on Installer or to the public as yet, but should be quite soon. In the meantime, you can check out the Databinge site for more details:
