Today Apple introduced the iPhone to Austria and Ireland. They are the first countries to receive the iPhone since 2007!
T-Mobile will be the exclusive carrier in Austria. You can read more about that on the T-Mobile website. They are offering up two service plans. A €39 ‘classic’ plan gives 1,000 minutes of talk, visual voicemail, and up to 3GB of data per month. SMS text messages will be 25¢ each. The55 ‘supreme’ plan offers unlimited talk and text with the same data limits of 3Gb per month. For both of these plans, a 2-year contract is required.
In Ireland, O2 has already announced their plans which range from 45 to 100, getting you between 175 and 700 minutes of talk time. All plans with O2 in Ireland are requiring an 18-month contract. For more detail on plans in Ireland on O2, click here.
In Ireland and Austria the iPhone device will sell for 399 for the 8GB, and 499 for the 16GB model. You can pick one up from Apple Ireland, Apple Austria or at an O2 store (Ireland) or T-Mobile store (Austria).
