Adobe Working on Flash for iPhone

"We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone," he said. "We have evaluated (the software developer tools) and we think we can develop an iPhone Flash   player ourselves."

That’s Adobe’s CEO – Shantanu Narayen – during an investors conference call on Tuesday.  Apparently the SDK has given Adobe the tools they need, and flashon-logothey’ve made a start on this.

They are hoping to deliver Flash for iPhone via the App Store, when it goes live this summer. 

There are still plenty of questions about whether a Flash player can be made to work within all the restrictions Apple is set to enforce under the new 2.0 firmware, but it sure is good to hear a definite statement of intent from Adobe on this …
