Photoshop Elements 6 Still in Pre-Order for the Mac

Photoshop Elements 6 Still in Pre-Order for the MacThis morning I woke up to read all over the place that the latest version of Photoshop Elements version 6 is now shipping for the Mac. Well, I hit up the adobe site and wouldn’t you know it, it says that PE6 is still in ‘pre-order’ mode. The PE6 page notes that it should be shipping by the end of March, but no ‘buy now’ feature is available… only the ‘pre-order’. If you’d like to pre-order a copy, it will set you back a reasonable $89.99. If you’re upgrading from Photoshop Elements 4 for mac, the upgrade is available for $69.99. Not bad.

What’s new in this update?

  • Easily create perfect group shots with new Photomerge® Group Shot
  • Batch apply one or more adjustments to multiple images simultaneously
  • Take advantage of Guided Edit mode for assistance with key steps when editing and making creations
  • Count on flexible layout options to create scrapbook pages, CD/DVD labels, and more
  • Select objects in your photos more easily than ever with the new Quick Select tool
  • Create and fine-tune rich, dramatic black-and-whites with ease
  • Get the perfect exposure with new tools for fine-tuning color, brightness, and contrast
  • Combine features from different faces for entertaining results
  • Experience native performance on Intel® and PowerPC® based Macintosh computers

For those that do not require the ‘full throttle’ experience of Photoshop CS2 or CS3, Elements is a wise choice.
