TimeCapsule – the first, and so far the only, iPhone backup program – has just had another major update. Version 0.20b was released tonight, and it packs a whole lot of changes, enhancements and fixes.
This app has impressed me from Day 1, and it continues to impress as the frequent updates add lots of nice new features. I’ve installed this new version tonight and it looks very good in just a quick run around it so far.
I think my favorite new features are going to be those relating to Installer backup options – as this is such a crucial piece of things if you’ve spent a lot of time adding apps and sources. Rebuilding your sources and getting your apps back is definitely one of the most time-consuming parts of any new jailbreak.
Here are some of those Installer related changes:
* viewing of contents in Installer backups
* selection of sources in PackageSources.plist and creation of custom plist
* syncing Installer Package Sources

Good stuff, and I like he sound of the Coming Soon features as well. Oh, and TimeCapsule has a much cooler icon now, and there’s even a very kind mention for this blog on the About page.
The new version is not on Installer yet, but should be by tomorrow …
