I’m not a big camera and photography enthusiast – but having looked around the new Cameratown iPhone site a bit today, I have a feeling this could be a very popular site for those who are.  It provides readers with quick access to ‘what ‘s new ‘ in photography from the latest news, product reviews, deals, and information on all the latest camera models.

The site is very well organized and laid out, and seems to have tons of good information as well.  The main sections of the site are News, Reviews, Deals, Cameras, and Tutorials – each accessible via one tap on a button at the top of the home page.

The News section provides a short selection of recent news items on cameras, lenses and other accessories, and camera-related software. Each of the news items is formatted in on column and easy to read on the iPhone.

The Reviews and Deals sections offer the same sort of layout – so you can troll quickly through short summCameratown iPhone sitearies and select an individual review or deal you want to have a better look at.  A nice feature of both these sections is that the reviews and deals are compiled from a good number of different sources, so presumably Cameratown has good potential to serve as an effective single resource for all your camera-related information.  The individual review pages have good length excerpts, a link to the full review, and price comparisons for the item reviewed.   The Deals listed cover a broad range – from SD cards to cameras and lenses.

The Camera Information section is divided nicely by manufacturer, and  has good jump-off buttons for Information, Shop, and Reviews for each individual camera.

Finally, the Tutorials section has links out to YouTube video tutorials.  There’s a drop-down and roll-bar selection area for these, so you choose either latest videos or a specific topic area, such as: Aperture, Camera Basics, Depth of Field, Lighting, and Photoshop.

I liked browsing around Cameratown’s iPhone site quite a bit.  I’ve even bookmarked it – in the hope that maybe I’ll check it out occasionally and start learning a little.  If you’re a camera buff, or an aspiring one, this looks well worth a visit.  Cameratown is at:
