JAJAH are planning what they hope will be the first native VOIP client app for the iPhone, and are working with the SDK to get the app ready. At Apple’s SDK launch event, Steve Jobs told us that VOIP apps over WiFi would be a possibility – and JAJAH are looking to jump into this space.
There is already a web-based JAJAH application – available at http://iphone.jajah.com. The new JAJAH MobileVoIP client for the iPhone will offer two ways to make free or low-cost global calls to any phone in the world: JAJAH’s known callback service where WiFi is not available, and the sole use of a Wi-Fi network.
JAJAH’s native app is expected to be available this summer, ‘close to the iPhone 2.0 software release’.
