Engadget announced their 2007 Engadget Awards winners last night, and the iPhone had a near sweep in just about all the categories it could possibly be rated in. The Engadget Awards cover a range of gadgets and consumer electronics – from cellphones to robots, HDTVs, and wireless technologies – and in each category there are two winners – a Readers’ Choice and an Editors’ Choice.
The iPhone swept the Gadget of the Year and Most Anticipated Gadget of 2008 (for the 3G version), and the Smartphone of the Year – from both Editors and Readers.
The accusations of bias and Apple fanboyism are already flying thick and fast in the comments section at the post on the award winners of course – as Apple also did well across the board, with other wins for the iPod Touch and a couple of Mac computers.
If this was the Academy Awards I guess Steve Jobs (or whichever one of his underlings he sent in his place) would be pretty winded from getting up and down to the stage to collect all these awards.
