A Sneak Peak At Freeverse’s Upcoming iPhone Games

Freeverse’s SoundStudio3 is part of the current MacUpdate Bundle that I purchased last week. (It is an awesome deal- especially if you are a recent "switcher".) I spent a few minute today seeing what it could do with the recording of last night’s "trial run" for our upcoming JustAnotheriPhoneChat. It is quite impressive in its ability to remove background noise and pregnant pauses. (It can even cleanly remove a good deal of the ‘thumping" that takes place when a heavy-handed typist is using his new MacBook’s built-in mike AND typing at the same time.)

I was looking around Freeverse’s web site and I came upon this—

As we’ve mentioned before… iPhone games are going to be HUGE!

Click on for a brief description and a few screen-mock and prototype images of their upcoming games…

The Freeverse web site offers this brief intro-

Among the games they are developing-

Flick Sports™

Using the iPhone’s unique flick/pinch feature, we’re working on Golf, Bowling, Soccer, and Baseball (to start). Fun, colorful and quick, these will be ideal games for a modern mobile platform.

Wingnuts MotoRacer

Ah, the wind in your hair, the bugs in your teeth and the open road stretching out in front of you! Using the iPhone’s cool accelerometer, (you know, that doohickey that knows when your iPhone is sideways or not), you can steer your motorcycle to victory in this wild racing game. Awesome characters and a touch of humor, its a Freeverse game after all, will add to the fun.

"flick/pinch"…

"using the iPhone’s cool accelerometer"

I love the fact that developers really "get it" and are using the iPhone’s unique interface to its fullest advantage rather than simply porting games to a new platform!
