Remember iBand, the German threesome who produced a video jam session showing off their musical talents on iPhone / Touch instruments? Looks like they have been going from strength to strength – getting press coverage in the NYT, Washington Post, and even a live performance on German TV, shown in the video linked above. If you want to skip to the part with them playing their latest song, it’s at about the 2:20 mark.
They’ve also got a couple full songs out now, which you can download in MP3 format at their site, HERE. I like their ‘Life Is Greater than the Internet’ quite a bit.
The three members of iBand – Marina, Seb, and Roger – are doing all of this using the excellent Pianist, Drummer, and Guitarist apps for the iPhone(with customized sound sets etc.) from Moo Cow Music. Apparently all three are skilled with conventional instruments – but they’ve chosen the iPhone as their preferred medium. Pretty amazing stuff, and certainly a great way for a band to grab some attention quickly.
I think I’m officially an iBand fan now – although I’m not rushing out for a pair of the cut-off gloves đŸ™‚
