Finally– Some 3G iPhone News That Isn’t From Rumor-ville!

I am sick of all the rumors.

A picture of a new black plastic case comes out and every tech blog runs a piece about the latest "spy shots of the 3G phone".

It is debunked but the next day a new picture is released. Within hours it is shown to be a Photoshop image, but not before the image has made it on to countless blogs.

Well, finally it looks like there is some real news to be had—

An internal AT&T memo let employees know that they should not plan any picnics from June 15th to July 12. Moreover, anyone who has already made vacation plans should  reschedule if at all possible.

It stated-

‘Last year at this time we asked that all vacations be scheduled before June 15 or after July 15, to ensure adequate store staffing and to give everyone an equal opportunity to benefit from an exciting product launch. Many of us are hoping that the repeat of last year’s memo means a repeat of last year’s iPhone release. Coming just a few days after the start of WWDC June 15th sounds awfully good as an initial release date (assuming there is already FCC approval).

Personally, I feel sorry for the AT&T employees who won’t be celebrating the start of summer. Then again, someone has to be in to my local AT&T store to take my money and hand me my shiny new iPhone.
