Kensington Offers a Slick Little Battery Charging Solution for The iPhone

Kensington Mini Battery Pack and Charger for iPhone

We were just talking about extended battery and power options for the iPhone the other night on the Just Another iPhone Chat TalkCast – and speculating about what new ones we might see when the 3G iPhone emerges.  Today there’s news of a couple of new options from Kensington – with their Standard and Mini Battery Pack and Chargers for the iPhone (the Mini is pictured above and after the jump).

The Standard is a pretty, well, standard-looking brick that attaches to the iPhone via a dock cable, and offers considerably longer battery boosts than the Mini.  The larger Standard model extends play time to up to 100 hours (music) / 6 hours (talk).  The Mini offers up to 30 hours (music) / 3 hours (talk).  They go for $49.99 for the Mini and $69.99 for the Standard.

Even with its relatively svelte size, the Mini offers some strong batteKensington Mini Battery Charger for iPhonery boost and features:

    * Power and charge your iPhone or iPod
    * Extends play time up to 30 hours of music*; 6 hours of video*; 3 hours    of talk**
    * Includes retractable USB charging cable to recharge battery pack
    * High-capacity, rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery pack for increased energy efficiency
    * Small enough to keep connected to your iPhone or iPod
    * LED battery meter displays remaining power level
    * *iPod nano 3rd generation **iPhone

I think the Mini looks like an excellent solution if you don’t need the bigger battery boost and / or don’t want the brick-like item to carry around.  It just plugs right into the iPhone’s dock connector – that’s the sort of solution I could really see myself carrying and using all the time.

You can find more info on the Mini and the Standard at Kensington’s site.
