Moo Cow’s Band – Do-It-All Instruments & Music App – Released

Just as promised earlier this week, Moo Cow Music has released their new Band application.  It showed up on Installer late last night. 

I’m a million miles away from a musician, but Band looks like another great addition to Moo Cow’s growing range of musical applications, and maybe one that can be used instead of all three of their previous apps – Pianist, Drummer, and Guitarist.  Band lets you play, record, and combine together a good variety of instruments and sound effects – from grand piano or bass guitar to dance loops, audience sounds, and even a ’12 Bar Blues’ instrument which seems maybe the most cool of all of them to me.

There are a lot of good-looking features in Band, most of which are way beyond my musical scope – but one of the slickest is that it allows for expansion and additional instruments via ‘instrument packs’.  There are already a number of these being developed and discussed at the Moo Cow Forums.

Band is available on Installer now, and you’ll need to also install the ‘Band Instrument Pack 1’ as well to make it work (the pack is 11mb, but downloads nice and quick if you’ve got a WiFi connection).

I’m looking forward to seeing what some of you real musical people can do with this new app …
