Take One iTablet and Call Me On June 9th

A new series of Apple Tablet rumors are circulating and I’m getting a headache.

Not because I don’t want to hear them but because–

a- I’ve been disappointed before

and

b- June 9th is still weeks away

and

c-

Here’s what we (think) we know…

Intel Germany World’s managing director Hannes Schwaderer slipped up and revealed that a device larger than the iPhone and iPod Touch is on the way and will be powered by Intel’s Atom Processor. He went on to say that it will have 720×480 resolution (the iPhone’s current resolution is 320×480 with 160ppi). Schwaderer referred to it as "a version of the iPhone" fueling speculation that it will have wifi, bluetooth and a 3G radio.

This plays right into speculation that the recent dry-up of iPhones might mean a pre-WWDC release of the 3G iPhone in order to make room for the huge hardware splash of this new device during St. Steve’s keynote on June 9th.

Combine this with rumors of a revamped and expanded .Mac that brings full PIM synchronization and BackToMyMac to what is now being referred to as OS X iPhone and the ability to use Apple amazing bluetooth keyboard with it and you have the potential for one awesome media/ebook/web-browsing/almost laptop-replacing device.

In the forums over at MacRumors regular FunkyJunky (hey I don’t give the names I just credit them) suggested the screen size comparison might look something like this–

and one rendering that has been floating around looks like this–

As a long-time tablet user and (hopefully soon-to-be former) owner of a Sony Reader all I know is….
I WANT ONE NOW!!! (and you thought Veruca Salt could whine…)
