It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything much about iBlackjack, a popular and great-looking iPhone jailbreak app that was taken out of Installer when the decision was made to focus development on producing an App Store version of it for iPhone 2.0.
Now along comes a bit of a preview teaser of a game called Blackjack 21 from MobileAge, that looks and sounds an awful lot like iBlackjack resurrected:
Blackjack 21 brings the words most popular cardgame to your iPhone/iPod with compelling realism. Incorporating actual game play gestures, true-to-life animation and high resolution graphics Blackjack 21 plays like the real thing.
Tap the chips to quickly place a bet, Swipe down to hit, double tap to double down and as the cards glide onto the table you swipe across to stand. Gameplay is super fluid and the perfect way to fill in that extra five minutes.
Looking at the various screenshots and descriptions of Blackjack 21 at the Mobile Age site, the game seems to have a lot in common with iBlackjack – which also means it looks very promising of course.
I’ve been missing iBlackjack ever since it was withdrawn from Installer – and so have a lot of others judging by forum postings about it – so it would be great to see it ‘back’ even if under a different name when the App Store launches.
