Flytunes – the live radio streaming app for the iPhone – has had its first major update, and added some big new features.
The big news with the update is that video and podcasts have been added – so you can browse through some popular genres and ‘stations’ for each and watch / listen to these as well within the Flytunes site. The range of content in both sections seems fairly good to me (apparently there are 200 new channels)- although I really only browsed pretty quickly and looked for news, sports, technology sort of subject areas.
The Flytunes interface has also got a bit of a refresh and it’s now even easier to make quick choices on what to listen to and get things playing.
Based on just a quick tour around this morning, I like the update quite a bit – and having videos and podcasts available alongside live radio may well help make this a real one-stop-shop for lots of people.
If you’re already a Flytunes user, you should see the refreshed look next time you visit flytunes.fm. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so for free just by visiting the site …
