One of the first iPhone cases I had the opportunity to review here at JAiB was the Otterbox Defender Series.
Back in December I referred to it as the “SUV of iPhone Cases”. Six months later it continues to be the case I use whenever I need added protection for my iPhone.
Now Otterbox is offering a case that does good for your iPhone AND others.
As the Otterbox site explains,

The case itself provides the same high level of protection as the original Defender Series. The case covers the iPhone’s screen with Otterbox’s patented protective membrane that maintains full touch screen functionality. In addition all of the phone’s ports are covered by Silicone plugs that protect the phone but allow the iPhone to be charged and synced without having to remove it from the case.
As the above picture of the “Original” Defender case shows, the case comes with a holster style belt clip for carrying convenience and added protection for the screen.
While the case provides bump, drop and shock protection and offers some protection against light precipitation it is not designed for full submersion in liquid. (The Armor Case from Otterbox DOES provide for a period of submersion protection.)
The Defender Series “Strength” case fits the 4GB, 8GB and 16GB iPhone and is also available for the current generation iPod Nano.
It is definitely a great case! Add to that the fact that 10% of the purchase price of the case (which at $49.95 is the same price as the original) is donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade and you have purchase you can feel good about on many levels.
It is a great case, from a great company, for a great cause.
