As if I wasn’t a bit too dependant on Jott already now they have gone and added a superb new feature- Jott Feeds.
While visiting Jott’s site this morning I stumbled across their newest offering– Jott Feeds- and decided to try it.
Jott Feeds is the next logical step in the evolution of RSS feeds and it pretty much turns the Jott experience upside down.
Instead of speaking to Jott and having its voice recognition service transcribe your words for you or someone else to read, Jott Feeds takes the written word and speaks it back to you on demand.
On one level it is similar to PimpMyNews (which Patrick blogged about a few months back) but with two huge differences.
First, rather than getting a set podcast of your news feeds Jott Feeds allows you to actively choose which feed you want to hear.
Second, the voice recognition for Jott Feeds strikes me as a bit better and easier to listen to than the voice used by PimpMyNews. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a computer generated voice but it is rather easy to listen to which is a big step forward.
Using Jott Feeds is simple.

Call Jott’s number.
When prompted say “Jott Feeds”
Jott will ask which feed you want.
Once you respond there is a few second delay and then the feed begins to be read.
It really could not be easier.
By default Jott Feeds has direct access to Yahoo News and Weather, Lifehacker, Mashable and Tech Crunch. With three clicks of the mouse, however, you can add everything from The Huffington Post to TreeHugger to A Bible Verse to the Fake Steve Jobs.
Better yet, without too much difficulty you can add your own feeds. I added JAiB and within seconds was listening to a post I had made no more than five minutes prior.
It is a great new service from Jott and one that could really come in handy if you are driving but want the latest news.
Like everything else Jott- it is free, easy to use and works great.
Check it out at www.jott.com.
