3G iPhone From $199 – But We’ve Gotta Wait For It :(

As expected, *lots* of big iPhone news from Steve Jobs’ WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) keynote speech earlier today. Maybe the best news … we’ll be getting the 3G iPhone at very nice prices!
From $199 for an 8GB 3G model, and $299 for a 16GB. Very nice.
Maybe the most bittersweet part of that good news – we can’t get it yet, or tomorrow, or next week. July 11th - whole ‘nother month away – is the release date. Boy – Apple always seem to have us clinging to some future data one way or the other with these things. So it’s hurry up and wait again for grabbing the new model.
With new specs including 3G, GPS, the App Store and Exchange support, that’s and awful lot of upgrade for a pretty sweet price in my book.
I haven’t seen definitive looking info yet on how much AT&T data plans will be for 3G – but I’m hoping those will be *just* reasonable enough to cope with given the nicer pricing of the beefed up phones themselves …

AT&T said that data plans begin at $30/month.
For some reason as I was watching the live blogs, I felt like the only big thing that was added was 3G speeds.
I’m sure I’ll get one within a week of them becoming available – I just am not as enthused as I thought I would be.
Was flash ever announced for v2.0 of the OS? I don’t hear anyone talking about that as a missing feature so I’m guessing either people have learned to live without it or they’re awaiting it’s arrival as a promised enhancement.
As a web designer i’m not a big fan of Flash, we can get better and nicer results with ajax, so for me is not a must-have into the iPhone.
Having Office and iWork support it’s super! and $199? wow!
The waiting continues… :-\
